brothers black kick off their self-titled label with brbl001, a four-track original techno ep. following prior releases on their own joint imprint, bade records, and family labels safer at night and voxnox records, brbl is a new home where the pair will curate their own sound and productions. the pair kick off the a-side with creep oder was? , a stripped down vocal banger that teams hard-edged percussion with an acidic lead. the a2, axe to grind , combines dub chords with raw rolling percussion to create a deep hypnotic atmosphere. on the flip side, the b1 only human is a tense, driving tool with industrial tones that s perfect for the peak time hours. the b2, imagination barrier , is a frantic 140bpm techno exploration that combines the duo s signature vocals with heavily 90s influenced percussion.

mancini and the creepers is a much needed breath of fresh air that really turned my week around from being horrendous to unreal! with the ridiculous vocal stylings of mancini throwing down some truly unorthodox rhythm, along with the unreal british-accented lyrics, this crew is pure entertainment in my mind. the rapping is done over the production crew, consisting of tommy tempa and frank law’s, beats and is put together in a great package.

the other man is a unique collaboration between up-and-coming young finnish producer janne tavi the flag-bearer of ibadans next generation nd acclaimed chicago house vocal legend robert owens. this ep is a superb rare gem that bridges global distances and combines a broad range of influences. the result is lush layers of sound, relentless energy, and intricate piano riffs and stabs. owensÆ poignant vocals seal the deal on this new house classic, taking it to sublime heights. the vocal dub kicks the heat up a notch with owensÆ seductive vocals and taviÆs stunning keys and arrangement. on the b-side, new york house legend kerri chandler makes a long-awaited return on ibadan. first up is a spirited vocal version with a dynamic bassline. chandler follows it up with an instrumental take, pared down to a tool and keeping the infectious groove going with deep and satisfying flavor.
